Manual valve for furnace?

I am camping with my husband and we where trying to light our Suburban furnace in our '91 Excella.. Following the step by step directions it indicates 1) turn manual valve to off position.. Okay, we have looked everywhere and can't find a valve. Does anyone know where this valve is? The furnace is under the stove...

Frustrated and cold

Look underneath the trailer, there should be a shut off valve down there, might be two close together, one for the stove and one for the furnace. If the trailer is plumbed correctly for LP each appliance should have it's own valve showing underneath.

Thank you Aaron, but I guess my Excella isn't plumbed correctly.. I see the LP lines running under the AS, but I can't find shut off valves.. We may have to call the repair man out when we get home..

Thanks again for your help..

Our shut-off is located inside the Airstream not far above where the LP line leads through the floor up to the furnace. There is no telling, though, if this shut-off was original or added later.

Thank you Lynn, if ours is there I don't see it.. I think tonight we'll just snuggle up with the pups and when we get home call the repairman.. Maybe, it's another issue and we don't have a shut off... Thanks again for taking the time to respond ....

Look at the side of the furnace for the copper line which is the gas supply. There may be a valve on it inside, close to the furnace. There may be a valve outside, but you say you can find none. There may be no valve at all, especially if a PO has modified things.

If there is no valve, just follow the remainder of the instructions you have and see if it lights. It should be an electronic ignition unit, and if it does not light by turning the thermostat on (switch on the bottom usually, but sometimes the off is just pushing the control all the way to the left) and turning it up, you may need that repairman. You are sure you have propane, I assume.

We are trying it again.. It's blowing and I heard it click.. Maybe we didn't let it blow long enough to warm up..

I'm pretty sure that their hasn't been any modifications.. And I'm sure it's been years since the furnace has been used so it probably needs a good cleaning anyway..

It's suppose to get down to 37 tonight so we don't need to worry about a freeze.. =)

Thank you so much!

The instructions on our old furnace says to set the thermostat all the way to the left. Then light the pilot. Once the pilot is maintained. Set the thermostat to the desired temp. The blower will start and purge the combustion chamber. When the sail switch makes, the burner will ignite.
