LP Gas Detector / Solid Red Light

We parked our trailer a couple of weeks ago; it is garaged, hooked up to 15 amp shore power and the LP tanks are closed; unfortunately we left the thermostat on heat. We went to check on it the other day and found the heater attempting it run; no heat but it was cycling and the LP Gas Detector’s light was on solid red. We turned everything off and tried to start the heater; no go and the LP Detector light is still solid red. I am going to presume that some how power has been reduced in the battery enough to cause this issue. Am I missing anything? As the trailer was built in 04/08 and purchased new in 10/09; I am wondering if the batteries are already bad. If so would they be covered by the warranty? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Hard to say. LP gas detectors are notoriously flakey.

Check the battery level some other way. If the lights light, the fantastic fan runs, the water pump pumps, and the stereo works then your problem may be a combination of air in the propane lines so the furnace won't light without a lot of cycling combined with a bad propane detector. Or maybe the furnace is bad, with a clogged venturi, bad circuit board, or mispositioned ignitor.

Otherwise if the water pump, lights etc are dim then the converter isn't doing it's job. Be sure the converter is plugged in and the breaker for it is on before proceeding on to more involved checks.
