Interior A/C cover

Okay, I am stumped..... My interior A/C cover seems to be troublesome. It is secured by two screws; mid-line front and back. The back screw is directly over the header for the screen between the kitchen and the twin beds (rear bath model). I removed the rear screw by drilling a hole through the track header. I then found out that when you tried to shift the cover to the rear to clear the control shafts, the filter panels prevented the cover from being slid along the ceiling to the rear beyond the header. Likewise the header prevents the cover from being lowered after clearing the control shafts and moved forward for removal...

So, beyond, what seems to be a major privacy screen frame removal, does anyone have a solution???? Thanks

I am clueless about your 1981 and your A/C cover. But, if you can take a photo and post it I am sure you will get more responses. What are you trying to do anyway? Take off the screen frame? Change filters? Repair something else?

You might use the search tool for 1981 A/C and see if anyone has pictures posted from some repair, etc. buried in a file somewhere!

Good luck.
