What furnace did you replace it with?

Hey Lumatic what did you put in the TW once you pulled out the NT20?
Need to replace mine before I do Yellowstone next year

I used a NT30. The process is pretty well explained in a thread by Pizza Chop. We both salvaged the NT20 base to use the ductwork. We both also had to raise the NT30 about an inch up and an inch over to line up the outside inlet/exhaust vents.

We recently replaced the Nt-24 in our Tradewind with an Nt-30 and it works very well! Bought it new from Palomino parts for 325.00

Sorry to bother, but does anyone happen to have a link to the thread mentioned above on installing a new Suburban furnace? I just purchased one from Palomino RV to replace the furnace in our '71 Safari.

Thanks!

The igniter is a piezo electric device and doesn't require 12 volts. It's like the one on a BBQ, no power there! The piezo device may not be working, you can light it by hand like you would any water heater in your home. The thermostat must be in the off position according to the instructions in my furnace.

Furnace NT 30 Replacement

Thanks, I'll look up the posts on removal. Who has the best price? $325 seems pretty good.
Saw a used one for $150 on craig's list in Denver

You have to call them, there are no parts listed on their website. Here is the number: 800-297-5830

The furnace in my 73 was in a recall, unfortunately I'm a too late to take advantage of the recall, which had to do with seals....I was unable to locate anyone who would work on it due to the liability issues, in fact I was advised to remove it, which I have done, it will be replaced with a small catalytic burner.....meanwhile, I use a Pelonis ceramic heater where possible or really good sleeping gear if I'm boondocking...

Aage, Palomino uses UPS to ship and that means ridiculous duty brokerage fees that will very likely make what appears to be a good deal not so good. I tried talking them into using US Parcel Post, but they weren't interested. As a result, I didn't do business with them. You might find a good deal with one of the reputable e-bay sellers.

SHipping for our furnace from Palomino was $22.00 and it came UPS in about a week!
