How to tell age of furnace

Is there a way to tell the age (or year of manufacture) of a Suburban furnace by it's serial number?

This post lists ranges of serial numbers that were involved in the recalls and were manufactured in the '60s and '70s.

Inside the front cover of my NT-22 there's a plate that has the serial #. I don't have a great picture of it, but it looks like there's a slash on one of the lines, perhaps that's a manufacturing date? I'd have to look at it up close to be sure, but with the front cover off a '74-'75 NT-22 looks like this:

The one I am interested in finding the age of has a 9 digit serial number and is an NT 30SP. The sticker on it says it conforms to 1998 specs, so it is at least that new.

Ah, I made the invalid assumption that it was an old one in you Argosy24.

Their website says that 9-digit serial numbers started in 1990, and I agree with you that the "1998 specs" statement suggests it was made after '98.

After I saw your first reply I realized I needed to include more information to get the kind of answer I was looking for. Sorry for that.

I emailed Suburban customer service and found out that my furnace, serial number 011203073 was manufactured in 2001. So if anyone has a larger serial number yours is newer.
