Help with tank heater hose location

I need some help with the tank heater hose location.

RE: 1976 31' Sovereign center bath twin
My furnace duct hoses had been removed by a previous owner and I'm not positive of the location for the second tank heater hose to enter the floor. In the posted picture, one hose is still located at the fresh water tank.



I'm guessing the second tank heater hose enters at the location by the water valve in the front inside area of the fender well. Can anybody confirm? This looks pretty far ahead for the gray water tank.

The valve in the picture at the floor hole location is associated with the city water supply line that crosses under the floor.

I'd really like to see a picture of a duct system correctly installed showing the floor tank heat vent locations for a similar trailer to mine.

Gary your set up looks very similar to mine. The fresh water tank has a flexible pipe from the furnace into the floor right abour in the middle of the fresh water tank. The grey tank flexible pipe goes through the floor just in front of the wheel wells and travels under the floor and above the axles in the belly. It connects to a flange on the galvanized box for the grey tank on the curbside just behind the axles. The black tank has the same type of flexible pipe which comes off the furnace ducting in the bathroom cabinet and goes into a hole in the floor inside that cabinet. You can see the black tank pipe when you open the hinged door under the sink. I can get you pics if you like.

Oh my! The PO replaced the fresh water tank and apparently he dispensed with the heat pipes. The fresh water tank heat duct is all I found as shown in my picture.





There's no holes in my bathroom floor. I have everything out except the shower pan.



The hose shown is connected to the heat vent located under the shower pan, exiting toward the rear of the coach.

Gary Sorry It took so lng but here are the pics I promised you. You`ll have to imagine some because my interior is not installed yet.
The first pic shows the holes for fresh water and grey tank. The grey tank is the one with the duct installed. Right behind that is a large hole that is for the exhaust fan from the bathroom.
The second pic shows the hole for the black tank. If you look you can see the toilet flange and the opening in the shell where the water heater goes.
The third pic shows the grey tank duct hose. This view is curb side looking rearward at the grey tank.

Thanks for posting the pictures. My trailer doesn't have a hole at the black tank location. My service manual only shows two hoses going to the belly pan but the diagram doesn't show the back pipe inside the pan nor does the service manual show the locations in the floor that the heat ducts enter the belly pan. My existing duct layout supports the two hoses to the belly pan thesis.

Your pictures removed some of my confusion and added different confusion. I'm thinking that for now, my plan will include dropping the belly pan to see if there's a connecting point for the rear duct inside the belly pan.

Are the hoses you ran 2" hoses, and do they each connect independently to your furnace?

Also, the hole in the floor for your exhaust fan. What is that doing?

The belly heat hoses I ran are 2". The front one connects directly to the furnace. The rear one branches off the manifold.

The hose that connects directly to the furnace...how far back does that hose go?

BTW, where did u purchase your 2" duct?

The direct connect hose goes right down to the fresh water tank.

Regarding the direct connect hose leading to the fresh tank, on my 79 center bath the fresh tank appears to sit further back toward the first axle. However, maybe one of the steel cross members in the belly pan will have an opening that will allow heat through.....

My fresh water tank sits under the cooking stove right beside the entrance door, then the gray tank and of course the black water tank sits under the bathroom. Good luck with your project.
