Help needed locating thermostat for 96 Excella

I have a 25ft 1996 excella. It has a Duo Therm A/c with heat pump. The Ac/heat and the gas furnace are all controlled by one digital thermostat. The thermostat is giving me problems. From what I have been told by Airstream, Duo Therm and Camping World, the thermostat is no longer available. It is Duo Therm part number 3106436.007.

Duo Therm can sell me a replacement upgrade package etc. It will cost about $300 plus install. Camping World can install new non-heatpump Ac for about $600.

All of the above seems kind of shame just for a $59.00 plug in thermostat. Any help in locating one would be appreciated. The old thermostat just has a plug in, like a telephone jack.

You should be able to take the thermostat to a WW Grainger or local HVAC wholesaler and get a generic crossover for $35.00 tops. Where are you located?

Anybody have any luck on a generic crossover thermostat for a penquin duo therm a/c?
