I'm finally ready to install a Carrier low-profile on my '77 6 metre Minuet. Can anyone provide me with the location to cut the 14X14 hole in the roof. An outlet is already located in the ceiling, so I know approximately where, but could use the exact measurement from the front rib of the trailer. Thanks for any help you can offer. Geo...
Here are some pictures of my husband & son installing a Penguin Low Profile in our daughter's Minuet 6 metre. I called Airstream in Jackson Center for the exact measurement from the front endcap. The hole was cut at 14" x 14" & the tubing for the drain was between the skins. Hope these pictures explain some things for you! The last pictures is the pan for under the a/c (not sure if a Carrier needs/has one). And the second to the last is showing support placed between the skins so it doesn't collapse when the a/c is tightened down. It's just wood cut to the curve of the ceiling.
The pictures are great and very helpful. I called Jackson Center today and spoke to a tech, but he didn't have the info for the Minuet. Perhaps I got hold of someone that didn't know where to look. You wouldn't happen to know the measurements they gave you? Thanks, Geo...
I don't remember the measurements. I know I called Jackson Center AS. Try again. I spoke with a woman who worked in the office. My daughters is also a '77. I can't really get you an accurate measurement since the a/c is already on, unless I would measure it from the inside to the front endcap. When you call, tell them that someone from this forum called last year and got a measurement from them. It could have been for a '78, but they would be the same.
