Heating question..

In our 21014 25' flying cloud is it possible to turn off ducts in dinette and bathroom area while we are in bed? We're dry camping and would like to save the electricity and propane..We have a Dometic thermostat that includes 'programs" but we are puzzled at how to 'program"..any suggestions?

No it is not. The ducts are all connected. The programing function is to set up what temperature you want at what time.

Your furnace needs to dump the heat it generates or it will overheat. My furnace requires something like 40 square inches of open duct space to exhaust heat, and about that much for the cold air return.

You can turn your thermostat down and find a warmer blanket until morning. And some boondocking folks like the catalytic heaters that don't use any electrical energy at all.

Your furnace needs its air flow.

The furnace does not use the new overhead ducts, only the heat pump/AC does.

Is the issue of saving propane based upon the length of time you are dry camping and you have concerns about running out, or is it just a cost idea? The batteries should easily be able to cover for one night, then run the generator the next day or use solar to recharge.

In newer Airstream TT, there are some items such as televisions, subwoofer, and possibly others which use electricity even when turned off. When dry camping make certain you do not have anything plugged in to the inverter circuit that you are not actively using.
