Heat Pump & Furnace

Hi folks,

We are having an interesting "undocumented feature" with our new 2015 30' International. When we turn the furnace on the Heat Pump comes on as well. Has anyone else experienced this and how do I get only the furnace to come on? This is especially annoying when we are boon docking and running off the solar panels. The HP will drain the batteries in no time!

Thanks as always

Answering my own Question

Amazing what you can find on the internet. After I posted the question I thought I would do a search on the internet - I found my answer!

It seems that if you have the fan in anything other than the "Auto" setting (i.e. Hi, Med, Lo), the HP will come on with the furnace. Set the fan to Auto and only the furnace comes on.

Now who designed that system?

Thanks for looking!

You must have a lot of battery capacity and a large capacity invertor to run your heat pump when your boondocking....just sayin'
