Post FYI: Suburban NT-24SP out of production

According to Suburban the smallest of their "NT" line-up is no longer being made.

It was the closest match BTU and size-wise for the NT-22A like my 75 Safari. They recommend 1,000 BTU per foot of trailer length. Their representative recommended going up to the NT-30SP which is identically sized and only a few dollars more.

If you're replacing with the NT style furnace and want to keep the a bottom vent format, Suburban part# 520009 is a bottom vent adapter and you'll need 4 round covers for the side vents which are part# 050733. Both will run you about $20.

I found a source for the NT-30 on eBay Express for $399, much better than $600 elsewhere. I'll post more info about this vendor if everything goes smoothly. Right now I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

What are your thoughts and impressions a month later? Did the transaction work out as expected? How bad has the conversion been? Inquiring minds, etc.

The transaction was not without a 'hitch' (pardon the pun!). I waited about a week for it to arrive and no joy. Then I started trying to call and couldn't get through. Email address didn't work. Finally I got through and they had essentially misplaced my order. Thought they had shipped but hadn't. Then I got it a day later. All was good. It came in original packaging just like it left the factory. Not damaged.

I went out to do the install and was thwarted by the first (seemingly easy!) step. You have to take the galley's bottom tambor door track off. I spent about 30 minutes looking up down and sideways, but I couldn't figure out how it's attached!!! Oh well. It's going to wait till I have more time.
