Furnace won't blow hot with 12V lights on.
I have a weird problem with my 76 Argosy. If I turn my overhead lights (any of them) on when the furnace is running the fan slows down and it starts to blow cold. If I turn the lights off the furnace works great.
Any ideas?

The furnace fan slowing down when you turn on a 12 volt lamp is probably an indicator of a bad coach battery or a problem with the converter. I would first try taking another 12 volt battery (like from another vehicle) and see if you have the same problem.

Are you plugged into shore power, or running off batteries? Sounds like a low battery condition.
And wecome to the forums! Is G.H. Grand Haven by any chance?

The fan needs to operate fast enough to activate the sail switch. Your battery is getting low.

Look for loose connections BEHIND the fuses in the
converter before ya get another battery. I found
loose connections causing problems...dimming/flicker.
The converter takes alot of vibration. Turn everything on
and wiggle the fuses....look for sparks and dimming
when wiggling the fuse.

Dust balls or fur balls from a PO's pet may be stuck on the sail switch. With the decreased fan speed it may not be making good contact. Try using an air compressor to blow the furnace clean. It worked for our 72.

I am plugged into shore power so I assume I should be looking at the converter. Thanks for the ideas and yes GH is Grand haven.

Cool! I grew up in Grand Haven, and Kay is from Spring Lake!  After my 6 year tour in the Navy, we ended up settling in Minneapolis because that's where I found a decent job. We still have family in Spring Lake and Grand Rapids, and make at least two trips there every year.

How long has it been since you checked the battery water level? Depending on how everything is set up, if your battery is not accepting a charge it could be your problem.. basic rule of trouble shooting, start with the simple fix first and move up.. battery water level should be simple to check. MHO
