Furnace option on thermostat 2016 international
I am a brand new owner having a problem with my thermostat when dry camping. i toggle through the modes and "Heater" never comes up as an option, only "HP". I reset the thermostat thinking that will help, and still no change. I have to be doing some bone head thing wrong....has anyone had the same issue? I brought it in to the dealer once for this, they reset the thermostat and then it was there. Now its gone again......is it me or is it the thermostat that needs to be replaced?
thanks for any help,
Jim

If you don't get an answer tonight, I would call the service department at your dealership in the morning, and stand with the phone at your thermostat...have them walk you thru it.
Good luck.

You can also download an owners manual from the web site of the thermostat manufacturer.

If you have two AC units you have to have the thermostat on the correct zone for the furnace to show up as an option, I forget if its zone 1 or 2.

There should be a Dometic manual with your AS briefcase and owner's manual. I would try a hard reboot of the stat per the instructions. You have to hold a control button or two to do this.
Did you check for the Zone 1-2 issues raised earlier?

As you press the "Mode" button there will be "h/p" for heat pump and "furn" for propane furnace.
The other modes will be "cool", "fan", and "auto".
There will be no "heat" mode.

"HP" is the overhead unit in heat pump mode, FURN lives on Zone 2 if you have more than one overhead unit.
I use the furnace predominately as it delivers a warming heat, not just a blast of fast moving warm air as the overheads provide, plus the furnace works no matter how cold it is outside, where the HP will only work down to about 35 degrees and then it starts icing over and the controller will flash to warn you to switch to furn.
If your controller has a glitch, just turn it off, depress both the mode and zone buttons at the same time and turn the power on while holding the buttons down for about 6-10 seconds, when you release this will reset the controller.
Good luck!

Furnace option disappeared! 2016 AS Classic
Hi all. I know furnace issues have been discussed, but can't find an answer for this even though it's been touched upon. My Dometic thermostat no longer even has the option for Furnace/Aqua. Just cool, auto, hp and fan. I want to get the furnace up and running here, with heat through the vents not the AC but no idea how? Tried resetting the Dometic, but still no Furnace option. What am I forgetting or doing wrong or not knowing!!?? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks so much.

On the stat, are you sure you are in the correct Zone 1 or 2, as I understand your 30' AS? [Edit -- you have 2 AC units, correct?]
Suggest performing a hard reboot of the stat per the Dometic manual that came with your Airstream briefcase's paperwork. If this is what you meant by resetting, sorry for the duplication.
You could also turn off, then back on, the 12 volt circuit breaker for the heating system. Watch the stat as you do this to make sure the screen goes blank, then comes back on. Sometimes the internal reboot from a loss of power will fix things.
These search results may contain additional helpful information.

Good luck!

Thanks Peter. Looks like it might be the DIP switch. AC unit was replaced and dealer/service probably didn't switch it on. Tried all other solutions ... that one must be it. Either I'll climb up and do it or just have them do it next time I'm in service. Thanks for your feedback. Really appreciate it.
