Furnace fan runs constantly
Just bought a 2005 19' Safari. When the battery switch is on, the furnace fan runs. Is there a switch other than the therostat?

are you sure your thermostat is in the off position? there is no other switch that i am aware of.
it sounds like your furnace is in the lockout cycle because the gas is turned off.

Your furnace has gone into lockout. This is caused by several different possibilities.
1-The Sail Switch not allowing the gas to be turned on once the fan is running.
2-Failure of the gas valve itself. Mine had gummed up from 20 years of intermittent use, and had to be replaced.
I also had the entire unit inspected and completely cleaned and the computer circuit board updated so that the Suburban furnace would try THREE times to light instead of just once before going into lockout. This helps in making sure it isn't just air in a LP line that is causing the problem.

Our furnace did that the sail switch got hung up and my husband had to trim a bit of something away to stop it from being hung up.

You could have a bad control board also. The board is responsible for starting the fan, opening the gas valve, firing the burner, sensing that a flame is present to keep the gas valve open and shutting it when the thermostat has reached the set temp. The furnace will then run for 2-3 minutes to purge the warm air from the chamber before shutting the fan.
Let me know if you need any other technical help on this. If you have a VOM, there are several tests you can do to detemine where your problem is.

Furnace fan runs constantly
My fan is doing the same thing!! I disconnected the red wire and it stopped..obviously I need to fix this before winter...LP is off and the fan just wants to run all the time..any ideas!!!

I had the same problem and I started from the thermostat, and it was stuck, on the on position, you'll see two metal stripes, they could be "glued" together.

It's really funny the way a thread starts and boom I'm having a similar issue.
I was hot wiring each of the 5 12 volts circuits, and I had the therm wires crossed.
The fan goes on touching 3 different circuits?
Is the fan one speed or 3 speed?
I would think that one circuit would feed the fan.
The wiring diagram shows circuit 3 as the feed for the fan.

One other possibility: The "Auto/On" fan switch located on the bottom of your thermostat is in the "On" position. Turn it to Auto.

Pulled furnace and replaced sail switch and limit switch...about $25 total...replaced thermostat...about $20....everything works fine now!!!
