Noise has been increasing on my NT30. First was just a squeak when the blower came on. Last time I fired it up was a steady grind. I suspect worn bearings somewhere connected with the motor and/or blower. After I pull the furnace, then what?

Replace it with a new one. That is what I did. It is over 30 yrs. old and if you put a new motor in it, next month or next year you will be replacing something else on it and the list goes on and on.

It is a relatively new one, but not new enough for a warranty.

In that case replace the motor, I think they are sealed bearing and the motor is pretty expencive like over $100.00. Most any rv supply place will have one or can get one for you.
They're pretty standard little motors. I replaced ours a couple of years ago with on that I purchased online from Mark's RV parts.
The bearings are just bronze sleeves, if I recall. Could probably be replaced by a good electric motor shop, but the savings would not be much (if at all) over just buying a new motor, in this case.
I had a similar problem with my heater making some loud noises. This was a new replacement, only a few years old. I took it to the repair shop and when they pulled it out they found a huge hornets nest built around the fan blades. This caused the heater to make all the noises. When the nest was removed the problem went away. Worth taking a look at.

I did find a mud daubber nest earlier. Maybe there is still some in there.

If you find that it is a mud dauber nest, you can buy screens to cover the outlets for the heater. I put them on mine and have not had the problem since.

I'm in the process of replacing my 1989 vintage NT30 K furnace with a NT30 SP. My blower works fine but the furnace won't light, so decided to swap it out for a new one. Used motor and other parts are available very reasonably (like free if you come and get it). Also, new furnaces are available very resonably from Palomino. THe price of a new motor is about half of the price of a new furnace.
My current furnace is a NT30SP will the NT30K motor fit it? and how much? Thanks

Course, if you decide to buy a new motor, shop around. Mark's RV Supplies is ok (I've bought from him before), but I wouldn't guarantee the lowest price necessarily.
Regarding my heater, we have a new 2008 international and of the 6 nights we camped in it we only got the heater to work once?? And oh how nice it would have been to have it work a few other times. Hubby and I have really given some effort to getting it to turn on, please can someone help. We read the manual to no avail (great if you need part number but that isn't the kind of help we need). Both times have been on Sundays and we are far far away from our dealer.
It could be your thermostat is not making contact correctly or it could be a faulty limit switch. You might take the thermostat off the wall and see if you are getting a connection when you slide it on & off. If not, they are cheap and easy to replace. If the thermostat is good, then the heater will have to be pulled and the limit switch, igniters, and computer board checked. That should be under warrenty with your 2008
