FREE Armstrong AC Parts - Austin, TX
I am having the dead Armstrong AC on our Tradewind replaced this week. (Don't want to start another Armstrong debate.........)
If anyone needs parts the are free for the taking. The only catch is that you must pick them up in Austin, TX. They are too big/heavy/etc to ship. I can store them outside for a while.
The trailer is a '71 but the shroud looks to be from 1976-1979.

All that is left is the shroud and it needs to be out of the garage this weekend.

Hi Mark,
Good looking unit! What are the wheel covers? They look like the set of SS disks that I have on my 67.

Vaughan,
Yep - full covers. Got them off Ebay. The big downside with the covers is that they cover up the valve stems. The covers have to be removed to check the tire pressure.
Ed,
I would say that the AC cover is in decent shape. It definetly has seen some miles and some sun. There are a couple of cracks that I repaired several summers ago.

A/C shroud
Mark, I would like to have it if you could find a way to box it and send it to me. If you can do this please let me know. PM me and I will re-send you my address. I will pay for UPS Ground (if you can get it to them) otherwise Parcel Post as it isn't too heavy to go thru the mail. Let me hear back from you. Ed

Ed,
I'll dig around at work and see if I can find enough cardboard to manufacture a box. May take a day or two....

Hi Mark,
Just like mine all right. Got mine from Sears when they had a catalog. They would also interfere with airflow over the brakes. You might want to tow without them in hilly or mountainous areas. I considered cutting an access hole with a new metal cutting hole saw and a drill press. Ruined one, ground away the teeth on the saw, and still never finished the first hole. Very hard! To buy one replacement cap, I had to go to the Sears Appliance Repair Parts facility in Austin. Lived in Wimberley at the time. They wouldn’t believe me till they finally looked in their catalog and, sure enough, replacement hubcaps were in there.

I am in Austin, and restoring my AS now that I got it a week ago, and if you still have the shroud available, I could take it off your hands
