Floor furnace ?

My 59 traveller apparently came with a (approx. 10x12)floor furnace. I don't see many of them mentioned or in pics. Is it because they aren't stock items, aren't working anymore, or unsafe, or ?

Just curious. It looks to be in decent shape and as this AS spent a lot of its life in Fla. I'm not sure how much use it recieved.

Any suggustions on how to 'bench test' it to determine if its safe or should I just assume it to be unsafe because of its age?

Thanks.

I've seen those - I think those were not factory - but not sure - from what I remember they are not vented - not a good thing.

I suppose you could open it up - look over the burner and heat exchanger and look for cracks and stuff, turn on gas and check for leaks with that soapy stuff - however, if it were me, I would probably not use it. I certainly would not use it when sleeping.
