Hello all-
Unfortunately we discovered on this weekend's trip that Pete, our 2014 Flying Cloud, has a broken Dometic 15K Air Conditioner/Heat Pump unit. I am posting this here for reference, and will update the thread when it is resolved under Warranty for future info.
We just had the Dometic fridge replaced under Warranty in August (cooling unit failed, yellow oxide powder seeping from under cooling unit), and now the Heat Pump won't Heat or Cool. It seems to operate fine, compressor comes on, fan will run on any speed, but nothing.......... No cool air on A/C and no hot air on Heat Pump.
I reset the breaker, reset the thermostat, tried 50 and 30 amp service, all with the same results.
Of course, this is not an Airstream issue, and could happen to any unit on the roof of any RV, but, If anyone at Airstream Corporation is listening, perhaps there are other appliance brands to consider? I am now reaching out to an Airstream dealer about a service visit to repair/replace the unit, as I don't want just anyone on the roof of our coach.
