Looks like a roof AC for me afterall. I was looking at the inside Cool Cat but I'm not confident it would work well being on the floor and all and I would need a big whole in the side of the trailer.

What is the skinny on the standard brands of roof tops. Heard something about carrier not be themselves anymore.

I'm certainly satisfied with my Coleman. I've had two 13,500 Btu units. One in an
Argosy and one in an Airstream. Both have lasted 20- 28 years and both are still operating.

I was told the only unit that has a drain tray is the Dometic 'Penguin'. I ordered the drain tray from Airstream. It came UPS, with a big footprint on it. Fortunately it wasn't broken.

Carrier was rated a "best buy" by Consumer Reports.
I know a guy in Florida that can ship you a 13.5k BTU w/heat for $508 total. If you need the 15k BTU w/heat it is $568 shipped.
Look for one of my posts with the info in it.
Why pay $800 when you don't have to?

We have a Brisk Air 15,500 btu A/C with heat strip. It works very well, but is engineered more for the flat-roofed RV's. Some modification was needed for installation, and it still has gaps inside the trailer where the roof is round instead of square.

I, too, debated the issue of either roof top or built in. I had the opportunity to purchase a 10 year old Penguin Low Profile unit for $100 and couldn't pass it up. Here in the desert it will cool down the trailer in appr. 30 minutes. I am very pleased with the results and its low profile doesn't detract from the vintage look too much.
