After reading the forums, and Weaselmouth.com recommendations, we also purchased the Dyson A05 Hot / cool fan AND the Dyson portable animal vacuum. Both were on sale, and we also then had the 20% off coupons from Bed, Bath and Beyond. However I purchased ours at Lowes and Best Buy, who honored competitor coupons- and discounts :-)

The Dyson vacuum I mounted in our bedroom next to the TV. We use this ALOT. I thought the broom was great- but this gets all the nooks and crannies and cleans all the couches, beds, rugs.....

Now the hot / cool fan- simply amazing!! A small space / footprint means I am not burning myself when I bump into it - like our radiant heaters. Also I am not worried when the dogs get close. At night we plug it into the 2nd outlet by the TV / Antenna in the center of the airstream. It also circulates the air draw from the Fantastic Fans.

So one things I noticed on our loving aluminum tin cans....inside humidity. We had a ran storm come thru, and the inside wall sweated from the temperature variance. Quickly turned on the Dyson fan, opened the vents, circulated the air, and the humidity went away. Personally I wish we had the humidity option on the Dometric, but alas, it wasn't ordered on our 2012 Eddie Bauer 27FB.

New deal on the Dyson recall. We have three and sent them all in for safety recall. One was new, the other two reconditioned.

Got one of the reconditioned units back early this month. Since then they have decided to replace them all with brand new units. Got two new units yesterday and they want the reconditioned one that has been recalled and repaired back in exchange for a new unit as well.

So three new Dyson heaters.

Wow, Doug. I just got mine back reconditioned. I sent it in and they had it three weeks at most. Only thing is my remote has a big gouge out of its finish on the front it did not have before sending in- same ole unit reconditioned. Interesting. How did they communicate the replacement the second time?

I sent mine in for reconditioning several months ago. Got it back and have used it. Just got an email that there were some other issues. They're sending me a brand new one. Huh.

First an email, then phone call to replace the safety recall one they just sent. That one will be replaced with a new one as well this Friday by UPS exchange, I give UPS old one and they give me new one. Give them a call and ask about it if they haven't contacted you.

I had a great experience, sent mine back, received the same unit three weeks later. No issues. RodsterinFl, why did you sent your remote in? The recall explicitly said only the heater. I bet if you call them they'll replace it. I've always had a good experience with their customer service.

Thanks for the thread everyone.....I had no idea there was a recall and I just registered to have ours fixed. It's an AM04 that we've had for a few years of flawless operation but getting an extended warranty is always a good idea

cory, if your serial number is on the recall you might end up with a brand new AM05 heater. If so you will have to exchange your present one for it.

Thanks, the SN was on the recall list. I'm fine with exchanging....what is the difference between AM04 and AM05?

Not much difference, apparently can move more air.

I got an AM05 back for my AM04. I haven't spent a lot of quality time with the 05, but I did note that the fan on cool, not heat, runs a LOT faster and moves considerably more air. That's the only difference I have seen. Heat seems exactly the same.

I noticed that later but I had two sheets. One did not mention the remote and the other did- the directions for the UPS store specifically said the remote is not needed. I did not read the UPS store directions until later. They said they will replace the remote.

The new recall specifies the remote as well as the heater.

Received the box for returning my AM04 today. My letter specifically mentioned NOT to include the remote or the base. Perhaps a Canadian difference.

Finally got mine sent off yesterday. Remote was retained by me per instructions. The lady at the UPS store said she'd heard nothing but raves from owners about the performance of these heaters. Agreed and hope mine is returns quickly.

I sent mine in early Oct, and was sweating the return before I moved on. I waited two weeks from the "It's shipped" email, then started calling for the whereabouts on it. It seems they shipped it to my home address in Sedona, even though there was a shipping address (Kingman) on my confirmation. So, this week when I have my mail forwarded to Havasu, I'll pay to have it shipped again, , ,
