Duo-Therm CCC bad out of the box?

Installed a new Penguin 13,500 on the Safari, wired it up, hooked up the CCC, flipped the breaker &..........nothing. The CCC does not light or show anything. Checked fuse on board at AC, checked O.K.. Checked 120V there also. I have 12 volts through the phone cable at the CCC, sooooo is it bad out of the box? Sounds like a possibility from what others say about them. Any advise would be great at this point.

Scary,

Usually I turn it off and on using the mode switch. My travelling partner uses the on-off switch that's hidden at the lower right corner. Causes lots of frustration.

Be sure you have the phone cable wired the right way. They do it backwards from the way they're wired for phones.
