OK, quiet, but more effective?

OK, I believe the ducted air is quieter if the dealers are saying it is. But, is the air distribution more uniform so that the thermostat gives a good temperature for the whole trailer with a single AC unit?
I have found, as have some others, that the front of the trailer stays much warmer than the rest of the trailer unless you use a fan to blow cold air to the front. The poor air distribution is worse than the noise.

What is it that you are buying ...or are you just offering your opinion?

Gosh, I love. To give my opinion.... However, in a few hours I will be on my first trip with my new Serenity, and it will be hot in Virginia Beach, Viginia. In a few days I will try to post my impressions of the ducted air. While the unit was at the dealer pre-delivery it was sitting with the A/C being tested and seemed to be nicely cooled and with far less noise than I had remembered with my 2009 International Ocean Breeze 27 FB. Actually the AC was quieter than my Allegro Bus.
Back with my report in a couple days.

I just had a new a/c system installed in my home. It is much quieter and cooler than the previous antiquated system. The condenser fan and compressor are a lot less noisy. There is barely any noise inside the house. I feel the air coming from the supply vents with no noise. The evaporator is in the attic and the hall has acoustical ceiling tiles. The return grill is in the hall and there is barely any noise there- maybe a little wind sound- The neighbor still has his antique condenser. It sounds like mine used to sound-
When mine and the neighbor's are both on I hear his and don't hear mine-
Don't believe the sales hype about a newer and more efficient unit making your light bill less- my first light bill with the new unit was $151- about the same as it always has been-
The ducted system in our 2009 Forest River Wildwood LE 28RLSS was much quieter than the non-ducted systems in our 2013 Airstream Classic 30 Limited.

There is a 27FB with non-ducted air conditioning in the shop now. I took db readings at 4' off the floor at the front, rear, and directly under the a/c unit. The readings for it are:
Front (bedroom):52
Center (under the a/c unit) 60
Rear (at the dinette) 58

We have a 27FB with ducted a/c that is going to be available for testing later today or tomorrow. I will use the same measuring device, at the same elevation and locations in the trailer, and post those figures here when I get them.

That would be great.

After 8 pages of posts and multiple readings in non-ducted Airstreams, it would be nice to have at least one set of readings from a ducted Airstream.

Front (bedroom)- 50db
Center (under the a/c)- 61
Rear (dinette)- 57

what year was the non-ducted 27FB?

Also, what device did you use?

Overlander, I just ordered a 30' FC bunkhouse. Please make up new data so I don't have to shoot myself.

Not so fast - decibels are perceived almost logarithmically. +\- 3db can be VERY noticeable...

Overlander63 - thanks for the numbers. How did it sound to you? Any perceivable difference?

I would caution conclusions until repetition by others forming more scientific consensus
