Were they ever white? I'm not sure I've ever seen painted white duct humps.

I believe his point was that the first section of white of the humb of the past (and I do believe they were white based on patrick's videos before) are now silver...so if you get up there and look now...instead of the beginning of the humb being white as the humb starts...its now for a short piece silver so all you see is a silver shiny small hump perhaps if you are at an angle/elevation as such...or so it seems

Ducted Air

Does the ducted air cool the bathroom well? I hate going into a hot bathroom during the summer months. We can't really leave the bathroom door open as it restricts movement in the hall way. At least there is a furnace duct in there for cooler weather.

I was talking to a 5th wheel owner this weekend and mentioned Airstream finally started putting ducted air in the 2015 and he kinda snickered asking why it took them so long. I've never owned an RV with ducted air so I guess I don't miss it. He did mention however, that the bedroom area in his 5th wheel didn't cool down as well as the rear living area. The ducts in the living area are pretty high up in a 5th wheel so they would be hard to close off without a stool.

Kelvin

Our Holiday Rambler 5er has a 15k BTU ceiling ducted AC and floor ducted furnace that works very well. Very quite and regulates temps effectively.

We used out heat pumps a couple weekends ago at night when dropped into the low 50's near Chattanooga - man - they are so flipping loud cutting on - have folks with ducted air so far found it cuts way down on that "PWAAAUWAU" horrible noise

Ive decided to only use the furnace as even with fan on medium with HP's - that noise is too jarring

Our 2013 FC 23FB had the ceiling mounted ac/heat pump unit. The sound was offensive. It was significantly louder that the unit on our 2005 Safari 25FB. The television didn't have sufficient volume to be heard over the air or heat pump when running. It was very disappointing.

When we decide to go back to a 25FB, we only considered a 2015 after we heard the a/c running.

We took delivery of new Lucy on October 2nd. We have camped in her for five nights over in Jacksonville. We had occasion to use the both the air and the heat pump. It's like night and day. we now hardly notice when the unit kicks on.

No idea what you are talking about... painted white humps ???

We ordered in June and received the first International Limited Edition Eddie Bauer off the line in early July ...and our humps are aluminum and have flowed all along ... both of them... see earlier photos posted.

...currently with 63 exceedingly quiet days in the ducted QUIET air. We agree with moosetags - the difference is night and day. We no longer have a captured jet engine that came in the 2013 EB ( aka scalded cat).
Glad that you finally got your whisper air - no more speculation.

Hummmmm, hummmm, hum ... duck ...er duct !

Having spent the last 6 months living in my 2013 25' Flying Cloud I can attest to the noise of the HP and the AC did not cool down the bedroom very well. The dealer made me an offer I could not refuse so I bought a 2015 30 footer. Can't wait to try out the ducted air and the recliners.

I looked at a variety of new Airstreams at "Out of Doors Mart" and could not tell from ground level which Airstreams had the hump and which did not. I also could not tell what color the hump was. I measured the inside height and the distance above my head was about an inch more with the ducted air than with the non ducted air (used my hand span so not very scientific). I did not hear the ducted AC, but I like the design. Airstream got this one right.

Ducted air is probably the only reason to buy a new Airstream. All other changes/improvements over the years can be retrofitted.

I will be doing a full report on this unit as it has the UltraLeather recliners, power awning, XM Satellite radio, rear camera, and new for 2015, curtains on all the bedroom windows for much better privacy. I think Airstream may be listening to some of us.

Msmoto what Thor of backup camera did you get.
