What did they have to do to install it? Looks like a fairly simply installation but then again...I know nothing about this type of stuff! It just says that it is easily transferred amount tow vehicles. Looking to buy this for my husband for Christmas so I can't ask him. Do you love it? I would appreciate any information you can give me! Thanks!!

As I understand it the camera is wired to the running lights and works when the lights of the TV are on, which is always the case when i am on the road. You can see the camera mounted in the center over the window, and of course it requires a non-standard placement of the WBCCI number and logo.

Any competent RV dealer should be able to install this. The monitor plugs into a 12v cigarette light outlet in the TV cab.

Laura, I have the Voyager 7 inch camera, WVOS713, I purchased from RVCAMS.COM they had the best price. $540. I had my dealer install the camera exactly as Tommie has shown in her post above. The dealer charged me 1 hour labor for the install. I love the camera, works great. Any questions call me you have my number. Russ

We're also very happy with this camera, it's a fine choice.

Our dealer connected the camera such that it has power when the battery switch is in the "Use" position. As a result, we had them install a toggle switch inside the trailer that enables us to save battery power in camp by turning off the camera.

It would have been simpler if they had powered the camera via the running lights, as yours did.

Although I have not examined it carefully, there must be a frame component behind the exterior aluminum so the bracket can be screwed into this reinforced part. I do not think just screwing it into the exterior skin would be adequate.

I will try to check this out, but have no real way to determine if there is a frame rib behind it.

After looking at the bracket for the camera, it appears the exterior skin of the AS is stiff enough in this area, curved, so as to provide substantial support for the bracket. The top edge of the bracket is about 6 1/2 inches below the rear edge of the middle marker lamp. The wire to power the camera enters the space between the AS skins at about 4 inches below the marker light. Presumably this wire obtains power and ground from the wires feeding the middle marker light.

There is no evidence that a rib exists beneath the skin as no rivet line is noted.

Good luck.

The factory service center and dealers mount the cameras in the general vicinity of the roof clearance lights. There must be structure there, or else the skin is really stiff. The curved end segments are a thicker aluminum than the straight side panels.

Camera is only mounted the skin if they used screws. Can also be attached with VHB tape and then Sikka 221 covering everything. If a hole is drilled for the power the installer just need to hook the power wire going up to the center running light and tap in.

I always manually turn on my headlights, that powers up the camera. Also a double check if I don't have a signal on the screen either I didn't turn on the headlights or worse forgot to plug int the trailer connector.

You can look at the end cap drawings on the parts manual for your trailer and see all the rib locations.

Perhaps we can just ask the dealer how they install it.

Btw, the Voyager is on sale at camping world right now.

Just a note on "ducted air"... My bedroom unit seems to blow much, much more forcibly than the front living room unit on the same fan speed. Also, the road side outlets blow 2 or 3 times more air than the driver side outlets. Has anyone else experienced this on a 30 RB unit?

The bedroom unit has less duct work to blow through.

But, why is one side so much more powerful than the other?

Because of where the squirrel cage fan is inside the a/c housing (not necessarily center, but left or right of center) and how many straight runs of duct work vs. elbows/angles/bends-
In a vehicle the air possibly blows harder on the passenger side or the middle than on the extreme left vent due to proximity to the fan and how much duct work it has to travel through.
In my house, it blows harder in the bathroom and less the further you get from the furnace. The living room is warmer than. The kitchen or bedrooms.

I think I may have this figured out...... to get the air distribution approximately equal right to left.... Some resistance in the one blowing too much should force more to the other side.

Yep. Or at least slow it down so it is equal to the other side.
