The first 2015 Classic was sold at Gillette, WY at the rally this summer.

Yes. It's unmistakable. The owners purchased this Classic at the Gillette International rally.

Rawn77,

I think that was the show model, production of ours will not start for a few more weeks, when the actual production models start.

October will be here shortly, then we will have ours. :-)

I know, kinda like being 5 and waiting on Christmas, except the toys are larger, more fun, and last longer.

I wonder if I'll see your trailer on the assembly line in September when we do the factory tour.

Our 2015 27FB International Serenity, Salsa Interior, Dual A/C, 16" Wheels Airstream is scheduled to start production Sept. 29th.

We probably will pick it up late October, after delivery and prep by dealer.

The wait is killing us.

Ducted Air

Headroom is 6' - 7.5" on new ducted units, 6' - 4.5" on non ducted units and in previous models. While the new Classic is very well done, it has less storage than my Serenity due to the second panoramic window over the bed.....IMO, not an advantage. I had a 2009 27FB International with the panoramic window over the bed and not only are the "nightstand" areas in my new Serenity more secure with small objects, but the additional storage of the small closet on each side is quite welcome. I do not look out the window much when sleeping, anyway. LOL

Oh, yes, the wait was very much like Christmas as a child. Strange, but I was more excited about this Airstream than I was about my new Allegro Bus in 2010. There is something special about Airstreams and our community, maybe we are just real cool folks....no pun intended...more LOL

The cool factor is no doubt there, as well as the quality. I, like you, would prefer the wardrobe rather than the windows, I'm sure I will be able to adjust.

Yes, the cooling and cool factors are both present!
We are very happy (can you tell) with our 2015 EB w/ ducted A/C. It was built (on a 25' frame originally ordered in a different configuration) to our specifications at the end of June / first week of July (holiday closure at production facility) and delivered to us by AS Adv NW in Seattle just before the Region 10 WBCCI Rally near Astoria Oregon in Mid July.

We were told that this was the first EB built and sold at retail (likely outside of the show model). The wait (camping on the dealer's lot) for the unit to travel from the factory to Seattle took forever ...with many excuses along the way!

In direct comparison with our previous 2013 EB, this new 2015 has more headroom and less noise from the A/C. I can not comment about specifications on any other models but this is the real deal after 6 weeks of ownership and ~20 days of use - again, not speculation; YMMV. See my other postings for specifics and relative sound levels.

As I sit here in my recliner and the outside temp is 86 degrees F, inside 78, which is exactly what I have it set for, I pick up my iPad with the "Decibel 10th" App, and with an A/C operating, I am reading less than 55 dB. In my 2009 Int 27 FB, the noise with 86 outside would be more in the 73 a 76 dB range, or about 100 times as loud in the old Airstream vs. the new Serenity with ducted A/C.

This may not make sense to some, but an acoustical engineer can explain this in terms of "sound pressure" and other terms of which I have no understanding.

Now I have turned the thermostat down so both units are working, and the reading is still below 60 dB. Note: a difference of 10 dB is equivalent to 10 times as loud, and being a logarithmic scale, 20 dB is 100 times as loud.

My conclusion based on the above, along with my experience, is....... Airstream has produced a real winner with the ducted air. Yeah Airstream!
