Excellent advice, Lew. We have already experienced stripped out lag bolts in the rear anchor points of our EB ... not to mention stripped out fasteners in the sidewall mounting of electrical receptacles. What is next!

Trying to crank 51 units out per day means each job is timed for speed with accuracy of work forgotten. Something not done is not rectified unless it "shows".

I watched the chap putting the black sealer on the edges of the plywood. As the brush emptied, one could see through the stuff and there was no reswipe to fill in the these areas.

It is really not surprising we have the issues we do because of the "rush" for more profit mentality versus do it right no matter what.

Obvious external trim issues were personally pointed out to the QC supervisor both in person and a photo in an email. Those issues were still there when the trailer arrived at the dealership.

If they are able to sell 51 a week the company must be very financially sound.
That's roughly 2,500 trailers per year.
That would be about 50 sold in each state. We know that isn't the case. Does Airstream have a huge overseas market? I know some are sold in Canada. I wonder how many are sold in each country or state.

They expanded last year (?) into the far east and what I heard at the factory in the spring was business is booming in China and the other markets. And the 2500 number sounds about right.

One more first hand report

We camped next to a 30 foot 2015 Classic last week, and were given the tour. The A/C does seem quiet compared to my 2013 25FB.

It seems that space for the ducts was created by lowering the ceiling. You can see the extra thickness at the roof fans. That lower ceiling gives slightly less sense of spaciousness compared to the feel of our Flying Cloud. Of course, the Classic design has a bigger impact on the "feel".

Ducted Air

I don't think they lowered the ceiling, I believe they raised ducts above the roofline. The headroom on the 15's is actually technically a little higher because the AC unit is outside.

I'm a little perplexed. Are you sure you camped next to a '15 Classic? I thought that they weren't going into production till October.

NO; although it seems that way to you...see the info sheet attachment above in 192 or here:

http://www.airforums.com/forums/atta...3&d=1408133688

We have an extra bump on the front and back of our EB with a raised roofline - in order to give the extra clearance and insulation provided for the ducted A/C.
