Carrier vs. Coleman?

The AC died in my 86 and I need a replacement. I am thinking 13.5k BTU. The predominant choices seem to be Coleman and Carrier. Which one would work best in my unit? Any difference with ease of install?

I hope others will correct me if I make a mistake but I THINK that if your old AC is the original coleman, it will have a drain pan which is essentially 'glued' to the roof. The carrier dosen't use a drain pan so I think you would have to remove the old one. I'm told that is a big job.

OTOH, I don't know if a new coleman can use the old pan.

this is exactly the issue I would like clarified... I want a plug-and-play unit without any modifications if possible.
