Best place (price) to buy new A/C unit?

I want to replace my old Armstrong with a new unit. Local Airstream shop will install it, but they don't sell it. I've been thinking about going with a Duo-Therm Penguin 15,000 BTU w/heat strip (open to other suggestions on that, too). Buy online?

In our experience Duo-Therm units are reliable. I have the Penguin but with heat pump option. We've had Duo Therm a/c on the previous trailer also. Had it for 10 years with no problems.

My opinion is the back ugly large coleman Mach Air models are very efficient, seem to never fail. The Dometics are so so to me. Service and support from Dometic is sub-par, but they have the lions share of the market today.

Too bad Carrier got out of the RV AC business last year. They had a good model that moved the interior discharged air on mechanical luevers that really made a difference in moving the cool air around in our "tubes". You might be able to find one or 2 remaining on a shelf somewhere, but unlikely.

So, you're really left with Coleman or Dometic. I'd probably get the 15K Dometic with the heat pump, or if you don't need that, get the AC only with the heat strip option.

I bought mine from PPL Motorhome out of Houston. No issues at all.
