Atwood Furnace Education

2017 27 FB with an Atwood AFMD 25141 furnace.

Is there an online source for diagnosing these Atwood furnaces? Youtube?

I'd be willing to pay for an online course even.

We're one month into a long long sojourn and the furnace stopped working. Got the usual dealer run around. You know "we're scheduling 2 month out now" BS.

The furnace worked fine 3 weeks ago while we were boondocking. But now the blower comes on and the furnace ignites for 5 or 10 seconds then goes out. 3 times and and then the blower stops and nothing.

A search tells me I'm not the only one with this problem but I couldn't find any fix. I read where people replaced a few parts and that fixed it but..........

I had the same symptoms recently while in Alaska. Everything looked fine and I was going to order a new control board. The tank was almost empty and after it ran out and switched over, it worked fine. Since then I have gone through 2 more tanks of propane with no furnace failures. I am not sure what the issue was.

Don't get me started about dealer repair backlogs.

Here's a video that may help:

Thanks, I found my reset switch easily after taking the outside panel off. Reset but did no good.

I looked up the exhaust pipe with a flashlight, look clean.

Propane tanks full, tried switching the propane valve over. Nada.

I don't see any error code light.

Sail switch?

If the blower operates check the sail switch.

Update

After getting the runaround multiple times from RV dealers on our route, Four Seasons RV in Abilene, KS told us to stop in on the way by. (I70)

Pulled in at 1:10. Tech comes out and listens to the furnace and says you need a circuit board. Puts a new one in right there in the parking lot.

At 1:30 we're back on the road with a fully functioning furnace again. Can't beat an experienced tech and an RV business that cares.
