Atwood 7916-II furnace

I found out today that Atwood has made a modification to the ignitor in this model furnace (possibly others, but I only found this one).

The old ignitor had 2 prongs. One was current feed and the other was ground.

Well the new one appears to have dual feeds and grounds. The dealer called Atwood and Atwood said the old ignitor is gone, replaced by this one. Funny though that they did not give me a dual feed ignition board. Atwood also said the new one would have to be "shaped" (bent) to work. I found this hard to believe, but will try it.

If this does not work, I am going to have the authorized Atwood repair center fix it (same shop I got the ignitor from).

Anyone that has had problems with their Atwood furnace, this might be the cause (bad designed ignitor).

I will try to keep this updated as I progress through the issue.

Eric
