Armstrong Air conditioner 1971 27'

When to replace s my question. Peace of mind or keep on going with the Armstrong. I'm almost finished buffing trailer and wife ask how's the A/c for trip to Florida this summer. I said it blows cold sweetie!!
The Unit has surface rust on top and very dirty after inspecting unit inside.
The insulation inside unit looks filthy and I'm concerned about disturbing or trying to clean.
Removed 4 bolts and unit doesn't budge. I have a bad feeling that it's riveted in several places.
Any advise is appreciated.
Thank you

I've read it's riveted all the way around but I have no experience removing one. If you have the interior plastic cover I'm interested in it if you're selling.

Armstrong Air conditioner 1971 27'

I am still running the original Armstrong in my 72.

It has survived very heavy use over the last two summers, which is about 2/3 of the five year lifespan of a new unit.....

It still cools great.

It is riveted down big time.

When I was building my trailer I was set on replacing my old Armstrong, then I started reading up on air conditioners on this forum. I noticed two things;

A. How long Armstrong's usually last.

B. How long many modern units do not last.

I kept my Armstrong, and I am glad I did.

All I did was clean the unit up, clear it out, and replace the top cover.

Andy at Inland Marine has them.

I got mine on sale, it wasn't too bad, it is a very nice fiberglass reproduction.
