Armstrong AC fan won't shut down.

Finally got the '75 AS home and started going thru the systems to see what works. After cleaning the coil and changing the filters I fired up the AC and it seems to cool down ok, but when it reaches the temp called for on the thermostat I can hear the compresser shut down but the fan keeps on running unless I shut it off at the thermo. I don't know if that is normal or not. The book I have does not say one way or the other.

Also after I ran the AC for a couple hours the was quite a bit of condensation on the inside shroud. Drain tube was dripping water so I think it is open.

That is normal. When you turn it to "ON" the fan blows continuously. As long as the condensation is not dripping on the inside of the trailer I'd just live with it.

Thanks for the info Top. The condensation is heavy enough to soak a paper towel, but it may have been due to lots of rain again today. I'll run it some in the am and see how it does.

Congrats on the new stream by the way. Make sure that your drain line is completely clear. I blew some low pressure air into mine from an air compressor, then sucked it clear with a wet/dry shopvac.

Your so right TOP our's before the breakdown did the same thing it dripped from the tube but still had some blockage once we blow-ed it out and cleaned the inside coils and fins it worked great,no dripping inside. now with the change of the condenser fan and motor it is even better.
