Armstrong AC

my 1967 Armstrong a/c worked great until the blower motor seized (oil). I bought a new motor that was smaller and all 4 bolts were so rusted they broke off. finally found a solution but now the a/c freezes up after a short run. Haven't found anyone in Arkansas so far that will put a new a/c on. I live 35 miles west of hot springs

If the new motor isn't spinning the fan as fast as the old one, your unit will freeze up. It's probably gonna be easier to get the right fan motor.

You probably have one of these:

G. E. 26352B14

Marathon 26553B13

Franklin 26351B9

I used my original after having a motor shop check it out. I also visited the local W.W. Grainger branch and they found one that would work. Make sure you get an amp rating as close to the original as possible if you buy a new one.

Sorry about your ac problem. I have an Armstrong Bay Breeze ac but haven't started it up to see if it works. Do you have any brochure or manual for yours? I'm trying to get an owner's manual for mine if there ever was one? Any ideas?

I am amazed at how well it's built. After I took the covers off and cleaned it up it was even better. Mine had a bit of rust but not too bad. It can get uncomfortably cold, especially in the mornings. What a problem to have. Looking forward to camping out over on Lake Greeson, and Degray State park. The offer stands if you need any help.
