There was a multiple page thread on rebuilding an AS, in which one of these stoves were used, do a search, I've lost track of the thread. The stove pipe need'nt extend much above the roof, because most of the needed length of stove pipe is inside the unit. when you need to move, remove the "charlie noble", and cap the pipe. If you can deal with fuel storage issues, and ash, etc; nothing can beat wood stove warmth in cold conditions, except for perhaps diesel. ie; dickenson stove.
