Antique Fan?

While at the Denver Modernism show this weekend, I picked up an antique fan (tabletop kind) that has Airstream stamped on it.

It is made of heavy metal, is brown and has cream colored blades. Airstream is stamped on top of the motor housing in red letters in an old style font.

The manufactures tag inside the base says it was made by A C Gilbert company in New Haven CT USA and goes on to give the patent number and instructions to use it on alternating current only.

Have any of you seen a fan like this or have one?

Thanks!

How about a picture of this fan? Sounds cool, pardon the pun.

Maybe it was a promotional item given to dealers for their offices, or some such thing.

I think I have seen fans like yours, but I am not sure if I ever noticed the name. I surely never put it together with Airstream trailers if I did. Please post some photos. It'd be great to see one again.

Antique Fan?

I was doing some research on Vernado fans that were manufactured in Kansas, and ran across the following site that may have some information on your fan:

A. C. Glbert Company, New Haven, CT

There are a number of patents discussed including one for a tabletop fan dating to 1918.
