Air conditioner service needed?

Hello, I have a 1983 Airstream with what appears to be the original a/c. It has the same aluminum and blue moldings as the trailer, so I assume it is original. The a/c is a Coleman Mach. Last time I went camping, I used my laser thermometer to check the temperature of the air coming out of the vents. Per the read out, the temperature was 54 degrees. I had the system on high. Is this a reasonable temperature? I know that automotive a/c temp is roughly 44 degrees so I was thinking that I might have a problem. Is this a/c worth servicing? Is that even an option? Or am I stuck purchasing a new a/c? I am planning on making multiple purchases on upgrades this next month, so I'm trying to determine if I need to allocate some money for a new air conditioner. If servicing is an option, can new vents be bought? My inside vents won't stay open because a little piece broke off. Thanks for the help!
