air conditioner replacement '76 Ambassador

What is the recommended replacement make/model for an Armstrong air conditioner in a 29ft 1976 Ambassador? Plus any "tips" on installation? We will be installing unit ourselves. Thanks

Are you sure you need to replace the Armstrong Unit? Those things are built like a tank, a lot of the time you will be better off repairing it. Run a Search on this board for "Armstrong" there is a lot of great information.

I replaced my a/c with a Dometic Penquin. Was not too difficult. I also got the drain pan for it. The drain pan you need to get from an AS dealer. The Penquin you can get any where.

It was actually one of the easier jobs.
