AC Totally Stopped

Any Direction is greatly appreciated.

Might be coincidence...I think not.
Had a bad thunderstorm and nothing worked in the rig.
Intellipower converter was not putting anything out. Took it apart and all the Capacitors were bulging. (It is 15 years old)

Figured since the Thermostat needs the 12v system to be working that was keeping the original AC unit from turning on.

Replaced the Intelipower converter and now all the lights work again....nothing from the AC unit.

The breaker box in the AS has 2 breakers both are ON.

Any ideas of what to check?
Is there a fuse in the unit somewhere?
Would a bad capacitor cause it to not even hum or anything?
Could the beast have finally served its life?
Is there any way to bypass the thermostat to see if the unit will run at all?

Grasping at straws while I sweat in TN...

If you were plugged in any number of things might be blown, assuming you had a power surge or lightning strike. Someone else will chime in with better info.

If it has the old 2 wire thermostat just jumper the wires. Not sure if the AC has a small 12 volt transformer for thermostat control. Or whether it is 12 volt DC.
Have you checked all of the fuses?
