AC installation in mid east

Looking for some advice on where to get an AC (and probably a heater as well) installed on my 68 globetrotter. I called Camper World in VA and talked to the service department. A fellow told me (direct quote mind you), " I didn't know there were any 68's left out there, but I guess I could figure something out."
Try figuring out why you just lost my business.
I'm looking for the guy who says, "Well on the last three globetrotters I worked on....".
I live in Baltimore but I have no problem traveling a few hours for a top notch technician. Any standouts that can be recommended?

Thanks,
Didgiman

Can't give you a recomendation one way or the other, but there is an Airstream dealer off I-95 near Fredericksburg,VA. Safford RV I have heard they are vintage friendly. Perhaps a PM or Email to Rob would be a good idea. I know he has had dealings with them. Along with a few other members of the board.

Good Luck in your search.

Aaron

That would be one of my recommendation as well. Also, there is one in Southern NJ, who's top for everything related to airstream products~I don't have his name but a search of the forum should bring it up.
Good luck to you

Didge,

I'd have no problems doing the installs for you, but I'm currently in OR and the mileage charges would kill ya!

Didge,

I'd love to do the installs for you, but I'm currently in OR and the mileage charges would kill ya! Just finished a '73 Safari A/C (Carrier Air V low profile) and Maxx fan install that needed some creative custom cutting to get the cover of the lower unit to fit the curved roof. Came out great!!!

You might be interested in South Jersey RV. They understand Airstreams. Good folks and a family business.

Click on the restoratiom button to see some Globetrotter work!! I think they speak Globetrotter!

Take care,

Sean

Hi Digiman--How about the Airstream Factory in Jackson Center, Ohio? Tie it in with a vacation trip to the mid west. That should be around 400 miles from you, a straight shot on I 70.--Frank S
