AC Help

My AC quit working today while camping
Has been blowing cold for two days until now. It is a penguin unit with comfort control therm. It was running on cool fan high but is no longer cooling. Fan still blowing but not cold. Strange part is when is switch to auto nothing run no fan either even when turned to 60 degree. Is this a thermostat issue or system issue.

Sounds like thermostat. Check 12vdc. It needs that to control.

If your fan still blows but you are not getting any cooling, probability is that you lost either the start capacitor or the PTCR( motor starter).

The box holding these is under the shroud on the curb side held on with a couple of 5/16 hex screws.

You should test for capacitance ( micro farads) and continuity, or if burnt, a visual check will suffice.

Ok it is fixed!!!!
After messing with it I was able to get it to run by turning the thermostat to 40. I was looking like a bad thermostat. Then I noticed the battery switch got flipped to store. Looks like the invertor was supplying power but not enough to run the thermostat on its own. As soon as I restored battery power along with 120 the thermostat started operating as it should. I will be sleeping cool tonight!!!!!
