A/C Vibration Noise

I have a 13,500 Dometic A/C unit and when running it seems that the compressor noise is picked up by one of the room frame members which makes the noise very annoying as it is propagated throughout the unit.

I wonder if there is an issue with how the A/C unit was installed. This is not the original A/C unit in my 1994 34 footer.

Any suggestions or help will be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Thumbs up Welcome Aboard....

New unit?....no noise in the past?

Take the AC shroud off and check the 'mouse wheel' fan for a mud-dauber nest....ask me how I know.

It is a function of basically hard mounts to a metal frame and being an average of 5 feet from an unsound insulated unit. In a house the AC is usually placed in an unused part of the house behind closed doors.

So I'm there, getting ready to pull the shroud off to clean off another nest.

Has anyone put screen material on the inside of the shroud to keep the mud daubers from building nests? Would it cut down on the airflow to much?

A/C Vibration Noise

It's an excellent idea, but would need regular cleaning to keep dirt buildup off it.

Opted not to put the screen in, I would never clean it.

I did paint the cover silver!
