A/C Replacement

Hi all, I am sort of new to AS. A year ago I got my hands on a 1973 23 ft Safari (with dual axles). I have yet to hit the road, but I am getting close.

My restoration so far includes, replacing the axles and shocks, new rims and tires, replacing the marker lights for LED's and replaced the tail lights cans.

Now the fun begins, the A/C is not working. Currently it came with a Dometic Penguin low profile A/C. It looks like it has been there since the early ninety's.

I was hoping to get some insight as to what would be a good replacement.
Another Dometic Peguin, Carrier low profiles, or any other brand?

I was able to repair a much older a/c unit.....removed cover, cleaned it up ( including the drain trough ) had it recharged and it's worked for 2 years now. I think I'll have it checked / charged again this year......They usually do not get much use. so they should last many years with a little maintenance. JC

My Dometic Penguin 13.5 has been pretty bulletproof despite heavy use over three years. Had 1 failure, fixed under warranty in about an hour. So can't complain.

That being said, I'd have somebody look at your existing unit before you commit to replacement. Might be something really simple...
