A/C Question

Hi all.

Have a question regarding the a/c in my 2005 19' Bambi. Is it "normal" for the a/c not to kick in until the thermostat is turned past 6 on the 0-7 scale?

Even when it's cranked to 7 the compressor will only run for a couple of minutes then cyles off. Compressor makes nice cold air, fan runs fine. Incoming voltage is 115v plus, just seems like the thermostat is set too high.

Outside temp was 28c, I believe it's the Penguin low profile a/c unit.

Any thoughts?
