77 Argosy thermostat problem

Restoring this awesome 20 ft baby but have a slight problem. Thermostat was laying on the kitchen counter and I cannot figure out where it was mounted. No wires hanging out, no screw holes. PLEASE SOMEBODY TELL ME WHERE IT WAS!

Is it for the furnace or a/c? '77 probably didn't have a remote t-stat for the a/c, but I've learned never to say "never".

furnace, ac has none

I thought so, but you know what happens when you "assume".
The t-stat for the furnace should be on the bulkhead between the main living area and bathroom, on the streetside, over the head of the bed, near the light fixture.

I think I found the wires on the street side coming out of a big rubber grommet-I think the stat was mounted on that closet bulkhead .I guess from pics on here had already been removed before i got it. The two wires (both blue) fooled me because of there size for a thermostat wire.
