Surburban Furnace Pilot Cap?

I'm trying to locate the twist cap that goes on the burner assy on my Surburban NT30 Furnace in my 74 Arogsy28. Anyone have an old furnace with a good cap or 2? I really don't want to purchase a new furnace right now so a used one would be great.

If it's the same as a NT 22 a cap from a 1 gal metal can should fit.The original NT 22 had 2 caps-one with a mica window for flame adjustment, and a plain one for everyday use.

That is what I have been told to use but I have had no luck finding a lid that will fit. Have you had any success using a metal gallon can cap?

Talking I STAND CORRECTED

I goofed - I tried a 1 gal lid and it is too large. There is a member who scrapped her furnace and maybe she still has one. Let me dig up the contact and PM you.

Lost the thread-Suburban burner cap reply

Can't seem to get back to the post on the Suburban burner cap needed for an NT 30.
I contacted the person who had a junker ,but unfortunately no cigar.
Try a post in the parts wanted section. If you can't find one ,my idea would be to take the 1 gal lid and line the threads with something like an epoxy stick. Build it up and wet it with saliva-put it on to cut the new threads and gently take it off before it sets. Good luck.
