The problem could also be the power cord, especially if your using an extension cord.

Another possibility is the start relay. If the terminals are burned or badly corroded, it will not allow proper start up.

Also, at the top of the compressor, underneath the cover, there is a limit switch, that could also be bad.

Yes, we'll need to check everything out. The main fan motor is indeed in very, very poor shape, so a new one's on order now. Once we get that far, we'll also test everything else, too.

Nope, not until May or so when we head out again for low country! Actually, it was a bit of a shock when we got back from our trip to the Grand Canyon last night, and it was cold here! Egads!
