2015 Fantastic Vent

Hi folks,

I know this has been talked about before on the forums, but I can't find the thread. I was wondering if anyone has heard when the "fix" for the Fantastic Vents is going to be available. This issue is that the rain sensor on the new vents only works once (i.e. it closes when it rains, but then doesn't re-open when it senses that it has stopped raining). Not that I need it for the winter in Arizona - it rained twice last winter!)

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks as always

You can check it yourself. Just pull the screen, then wet your finger and touch the sensor. It will close. When it drys out it should open.

If you could have a superpower, what would it be?

Thanks Bigventure, but that is not the information I was looking for. I know that my vents only close once, and do not re-open like they did on my two previous Airstreams. I was led to believe that Fantastic was working on a fix (re-programming!) so that the new vents would work like the old ones.

Anyone got any more information?

This is a different hardware-based approach, but I downgraded the fan unit, bypassing the rain sensor:

Fantastic Vent, Now under new ownership, slightly changed their design, look and function. Not the same as the fan I have owned since 2005. There are things you were able to do with the older fan that are no longer available on the next generation.
