The AC is 12,000 BTU's.
The generator should be at least 3000 watts, for 2 extra reasons.
1. The Univolt be also be on, as well as lights.
2. You are not supposed to load a generator to more than 80 percent of it's maximum rating. To do so, shortens it's life, as well as then really gobbles up the fuel.

Welcome to the forums. Is the a/c the original, or is it a replacement? If it's the orginal, it should be a 12,000 BTU model. If it's a replacement, it could be almost anything.

I don't think it had a thermostat per se. Just a 4 position switch. OFF-FAN-LOW COOL-HI COOL.

No thermostat in my '74 Argosy 26'. None that I am aware of. The only thermostat is for the furnace. Just a 4 position switch as I mentioned before on the AC. The switch would require 4 wires one for power and one for each of the remaining functions. So maybe you are missing the switch.

Have a 72 trade wind I have two thermostats one for AC and one for heat one has control to turn on heat or AC. Not sure if this is original or add on.
