1971 excella500 armstrong AC

I recently purchased a 1971 Airstream Excella 500. The Armstrong A/C unit works. I do need to replace the compressor. I am hoping to find a Compressor for the unit that is original or contact the company to see what would be a satisfactory replacement for the compressor.

I would like to keep the system a original as possible. Everyone I have talked to says to keep the Armstrong unit if at all posible.

Chris,

Maybe I am missing something. If it works then why do you need to replace the compressor?

Maybe you should check the control wiring, contactors and the capacitors first.
