1966 NT20-A Suburban Furnace

Hello all,
Trying to test furnace but cannot get pilot to light. Instructions state to turn on thermostat to low, then turn on gas valve which there is none under the belly and none on the pipe entering furnace visible through cabinet adjacent to furnace. Is there a valve behind the unit? I see it's on a slide, but how do I release to slide out? Side note, there was one inlet or exhaust tube that was PACKED solid with mud daubers, perhaps this blew a fuse/breaker within unit? Any help here is much appreciated. Thanks! Greg
